Hey! I am KokoBoo

In a lush, vibrant jungle, KokoBoo the Koala lived high up in a  eucalyptus tree with his mother and his siblings. He was as happy as one  can be, playing eating and sleeping all day long.

One day he was strolling around alone. He explored hidden places he had never been before. There were so many animals he had never seen before.

Eventually he met a group of monkeys. The young primates told him, that the jungle was the worst place to live in the world, since there was really nothing to do except eat and sleep. “Only the ones who live in the city are truly happy”, they told him.

Since his encounter with the monkeys, KokoBoo had to think about his boring life in this terrible jungle everyday. He was dreaming of the big city now and wished he just could go there so he could do whatever one does in the city to live a happy life.

One day he could not bear his misery anymore, so he said goodbye to his family and left his home to find true happiness like all the million people in the big cities.

Soon he got really tired from walking so far. When he reached a town, he stopped at a busy market. KokoBoo was really hungry, so he grabbed some Eucalyptus at a shop and wanted to eat it, but the owner asked him to pay with money and would not give the delicious Eucalyptus to the hungry little Koala.

KokoBoo had no money. He did not even know what money was. A friendly dog explained to him: “Humans use little papers and metal coins to exchange goods. This is what they call money. You have to work to earn it, then you can trade it for whatever you want."

The little baby Koala was puzzled. In the jungle, he only needed leaves to eat, which were everywhere. He was almost starving by now but he managed to find work at a farm in a small village. The days were long and very exhausting but at least he got food every day.

At the end of a very hard season on the farm he got his salary, but he was very disappointed in how little money he had earned for so much hard work.

KokoBoo left the farm to get to the big city. He saw the huge buildings, heard all the noise, smelled all the exhausts of the cars and the factories. He was not happy at all.

“You need much more money to find true happiness! Only when you can afford the best apartment and the most beautiful car, you will be as happy as everyone in the big city. You can’t earn that much money from working hard. You need to invest your money and let it work for you instead”, a smart pigeon told him.

So KokoBoo started investing his money in Cryptocurrencies. He could not believe  his eyes how fast he doubled, tripled and finally multiple tenfold his money in almost no time.

Finally he enjoyed the life of happiness he had dreamed of. He bought expensive things like a sports car, the most expensive jewellery, the most exclusive food and lived in the highest penthouse.

Unfortunately this newly found happiness was very short-lived. After a couple of weeks he felt nothing but emptiness, because there was nothing more to reach for him. Now he felt more sad than he ever felt before.

A few days of sadness passed when a pigeon landed next to KokoBoo. It asked why he was so said and the little Koala explained his misery. “You got bad advice from my cousin”, said the pigeon. “He did not tell you that all the work would make you tired. Humans go on holiday, to feel happy. You should travel and relax.”

KokoBoo followed this pigeons advice again and went to a beautiful beach. The white sand, the turquoise water and the green palm trees filled his heart with happiness. But also this happiness did not last for long. Even if he enjoyed the beauty of this paradise, he felt something missing. “What is the purpose of my life?”, he kept asking himself.

When he was looking at the sunset one day, asking himself about the purpose of life over and over again, a wise old tortoise approached him. “Money won’t bring you happiness! No matter how rich you are and how luxurious your life is, it will never bring you fulfillment. But there is still a way to buy happiness with all your money: You need to help others, who are less unfortunate. The gratefulness they experience, will rub off on you and you will feel pure happiness”, the tortoise explained.

KokoBoo took the advice and used his money to build a school in a very remote and poor village. The smiles on the children’s faces made him as happy as he ever was before. He went from village to village and helped wherever he could, until he had given away all his fortune. Suddenly he felt sad again. Not because he had no money left, but there was still so much poverty in the world and he knew he could never help everyone in need.

He went on his travels to seek true happiness. One day he reached a mountain top and looked over the wide lands beneath him. The view was breathtaking and one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen. A majestic bird landed next to him. “You seem to have come a long way, young Koala. What are you searching for?”, the bird asked. “Happiness”, KokoBoo replied. “You can’t find happiness on the outside. Happiness has to come from the inside. Go to the monastery and learn how to meditate. It is the only way to find what you are looking for” the majestic bird told him.

KokoBoo followed its advice. In the monastery he learned to control his breath and embrace every wonderful moment of his meditations. For the first time he felt true calmness of his soul, ever since the monkeys had told him about happiness. He knew it was time to go back to the jungle to be with his friends and family.

He was welcomed back with so much love, that absolutely nothing else could ever bring more happiness to his heart. KokoBoo knew he had a mission now. Not out in the wide world, but here inside the jungle.

Everyday friends and family gathered around him to hear about his adventures and to learn about happiness. KokoBoo preached with so much passion, that more and more animals would appear to listen to him preaching the true meaning of happiness…
